Small task, big task !? What is a small task and what is a big task in our lives ?!
It is good to see that for Jesus Christ the poor woman’s  two small copper coins is the big thing "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.”
We have a tendency to neglect small things , not even take them into count because of their insignificance .The crumb that falls of the table is only a small change , smaller things in our lives , a timid smile does not count although we all know that the sea is made up of small droplets.
How fragile and small  is a snowflake , yet if there are too many of them -on a road - they can become an obstacle, a snowdrift ! But these same beautiful mind-boggling crystals of water during skiing are carrying us on their backs and present  us  with the beautiful experience of flying from the top of the mountain , down to the bottom  of the valley.
I am filled with owe ,how God puts our world together from such tiny cells , molecules , atoms and even tinier pieces than the atoms . I cannot stop admiring our world , this huge puzzle,  this endless lego put together from these parts , from which we are also born and where we silently fall back into after our death .
I am standing in the school corridor around me the many children are booming, swarming , whilst listening to the head of the class of my son, pushing the confines of his limits ! A  nice looking young woman , quietly speaking, the air emanating from her lungs just touching her vocal cords !! These molecules of air, soft waves through my eardrums not only carry discreetly, clearly  the teacher’s message- through the whirling sound cavalcade of the school -but from the wise, meaningful words I feel, understand this conscientious teacher’s  anxious concern , gentle love as well .Who could  measure ,count how many molecules of air reached my eardrums , carrying clearly , understandably this young teacher’s good-willing , wise , anxious love ?I do not know, but I am filled with marvel by these "small “ vibrations that can guide the rest of the life of a drifting child onto the right path determining it !
How good it would be if we could pay more serious attention to the little things , the small , insignificant details, because often everything is determined by them . As a father , you can work for years for your family , taking your pay home consciously , but perhaps that your child, your wife still won’t discover in your hard work your self-sacrificing love towards them . The food with no salt is tasteless !! Surprise your dear wife with a single  flower and you’ll see she’ll blush with delight , clings to your neck , and the gushing springs of the  gentle affection will wash clean your relationship ! Take your child for a walk, for a cake, ice-cream , a soccer match , tell your child a story , wait patiently , as the butterfly for a flower that he/ she will snuggle up to you , with small steps, with childlike trust , tells you his/her  secrets ! Stepping on the way of small things , advancing slowly you will suddenly become aware ,  how important a smile , a walk , a  single flower , a piece of cake , the tiny ripples of being , existing and how much happiness they can bring into our lives .
The time of Advent is beginning soon !! Lets try , quietly to “steal” the small things beside the big things . lets make our Christmas preparation into the days of small things . Lets collect bending down  gathering all those insignificant little “ hings" , that perhaps we overlooked  until now next to our everyday “all-important “ tasks. Lets make our Advent preparation a well-planned and nicely finished string of pearls of our tiny tasks , may they become  the soft “eiderdown”of the “winter” creeping into our lives !
With love ,
Father Csaba

The Word of God
He looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasury; he also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. He said, 'Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.'
Luke 21:1-4
