Disregarding the basic requirements of the profession, exploiting and using mentally damaged and traumatised teenagers, the left-liberal media continue to run articles targeting Csaba Böjte's children's homes for money, even though they have known for weeks that the girl they present, who they claim was abused and raised in the home in Szováta, has admitted that the accusations are not true.
PestiSrácok.hu has obtained proof beyond doubt that the girl has repeatedly said and written down in recent weeks that the alleged victim interview is a fake. Meanwhile, the interview subjects were dropped from the series of articles who did not support the notion that Böjte's children's homes were some kind of child-torturing institutions of depraved morality, where the management itself was guilty of abuse, or if not, covering it up. This is how the ruthless Liberal defamation squad operates, led by foreign-funded media workers who claim to be investigators, with figures such as Rita Perintfalvi and Boróka Parászka appearing in the background.
"LYING IS NOT ALLOWED" - THAT SHOULD BE THE BASIC PRESS ETHIC
A journalist has a huge responsibility to investigate crimes and alleged crimes that have not yet been investigated by the authorities and to give space to alleged accusations. And it is twice as serious when the people involved are vulnerable, traumatised people, especially traumatised children. It is commendable to free an abused, sexually exploited, damaged young person and to expose pedophile criminals, but so important is the weight of a possible false accusation against an innocent person. As renowned, respected experts have repeatedly told us, including to PestiSrácok.hu, false accusations of child sexual abuse are becoming more and more common because it is extremely difficult to prove, crimes condemned by the society as a whole are increasingly being used as a trump card for some kind of personal interests.
We at PestiSrácok.hu have received five desperate requests for help with alleged pedophile abuse cases this year alone. One proved beyond doubt to be true. In this case, criminal proceedings are also ongoing, to which I believe our fact-finding reports have made a substantial contribution.
Because the stakes and the responsibility are enormous, I personally, whenever I receive such a request, start by checking whether there is anything contradictory in the story and, if its validity is questioned, I do not step into the place of the authorities, and I do not take over the place and role of professions that I do not have the knowledge to dare to say what might be true in extremely complicated cases that are burdened with personal conflicts. And I certainly do not choose between concepts, which is truer, which sounds better... It is in vain to refine with "may be“ or with several additions, media reports of abuse accusations amount to and result in a social judgment. If the allegation of abuse is challenged during the investigation, I will not target the potential abuser, because he or she could be an innocent accused victim. Because the impact of a series of press reports alleging abusive accusations cannot be undone or overridden by either corrective or legal actions. The trace of the accusation, however untrue, will remain forever.
OVER NINE MONTHS, THEY CAME UP WITH FIVE THEORIES, PICKING THE ONE THEY BELIEVED TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE
All of this was ignored by Átlátszó Erdély, Mérce and the Transylvanian edition of Telex, which joined the ranks, not to mention the American Népszava, which has slipped so many times on the slippery slope of credibility that it is not even worthy to be mentioned in this ornate list.
As is known, a terrible incident did indeed happen at the Saint Francis Foundation, an extensive network of institutions that educate hundreds of children, but the guilty educator was sentenced to 28 years in prison, the case was reported in detail by PestiSrácok.hu. The left-wing liberal press, however, has got a taste for it: they definitely want to portray the foster homes of Brother Böjte Csaba as if rape, beatings and abuse were commonplace there, and the founding father himself, who has become one of the most important icons of the Hungarian nation, would be at the forefront in covering them up.
Tünde Szabó and Árpád Kulcsár, the two proud transparent investigators who even made a special short film about how they unravelled the case, worked for more than nine months on the "Mónika case", the subject of our article. To the best of our knowledge, five different theories were put forward during this time, which did not set off the alarm bells in their sense of justice that something was wrong, but they decided to write the one that was most effective, and if half the readers believe it, that's fine...
A history of systemic mistreatment and abuse had to be established. This is held up by the activists, civilians and politicians who have since been petitioning the province, keeping up the pressure and trying to have Csaba Böjte removed. The Franciscan monk who has dedicated his life to rescuing children who have been abandoned by others and who has developed a system that is unique in the world. A system which, even if it has its defects, has been exemplary in its success and has brought children who had started out with no prospects to a happy and successful life. Many have graduated, some with more than one degree, others with vocational qualifications; most of those who have grown up in these homes now have families and are lovingly raising their children. And many have returned to help others. To anyone who does not have a hidden agenda with regard to Böjte's legacy, there is no question why the monk is so popular internationally, why he is so highly respected - regardless of political affiliation, by the way - why he is worthy of his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize by Miklós Kásler.
As to whom he stands in their way, many people in Transylvania have their own opinion... and perhaps they are not far from the truth.
IT TOOK MONTHS TO PREPARE MONIKA FOR HER INTERVIEW, AND EVEN SO, THE FINAL RESULT HAD TO BE EDITED THOROUGHLY
The new showcase sample victim, Monica, had to be extensively worked on. It is said that at the beginning of the meetings and discussions she could not even speak, she could not express herself, and certainly could not perform in front of a camera. The final result, the recorded material, was shot over a whole day. Several hours of footage were filmed, and many of the details that would have weakened the authenticity of the film were not even included. They then provided a lawyer, a psychologist and assured her that even the investigation, which the police dropped after 2015 for lack of evidence, could be reopened and she could make a serious claim for damages against the foundation, for which she would of course get all the help she needs. In addition, they completely ignored the multiple injuries that the now young woman suffered in her childhood. Because you have to draw the line - yet they cannot go broke in helping others...
Even today, thousands of them are preparing for some mega-lawsuits. To quote one of their journalists, Tünde Szabó: "Procedures are starting now that will last for years to come.
FIVE AGAINST MANY HUNDREDS - ÁTLÁTSZÓ, MÉRCE AND OTHERS ARE CONDEMNING
For a journalist specialising in crimes against children, a story like this is a real challenge. I struggled for days, weeks, reading the articles over and over again, watching the interview. I travelled to Transylvania to talk to as many current and former children residents and to educators as possible, who have, or could have, personal impressions and experiences. Of course, according to those involved in the accusation campaign, anyone who does not back up their allegations is under influence, if someone defended Böjte, it was told what to say. You can see that this is the attitude they have towards anyone whose views and opinions do not fit into their picture.
There, in Sovata and Deva, it turned out that the people who had been working for the Foundation for 15-20 years had either not been contacted at all, or if they denied the allegations, they had not published them or had just mentioned them briefly but in the context of the accusations. In spite of all the attempts to point to the big number of positive examples, the masses of young people who had been raised in these shelter homes and had already left them, and their categorical denials of what had been reported in the press, the response was that the many good things that had happened had nothing to do with, or even had any influence on the fact that serious things could sometimes happen.
RTL managed to get one more piece of skin off the story by spending several days filming in Transylvania just outside of the houses, but only managed to interview Mónika and another fellow child, as well as one of their former educators, who, moreover, did not even talk about sexual abuse, only recalling a single incident in a canteen, which, if it happened, could be eventually be just considered as a mistreatment.
THE ALLEGATION OF ABUSE WAS NOT TRUE AND JOURNALISTS WERE WARNED OF THIS
In the last few days, we have received several clear and unequivocal pieces of evidence - messages, audio recordings - which prove that Mónika herself admitted that she was not telling the truth and that the interview was a fake. Although we cannot present the texts she said as they are not intended for the public, we are talking about hard evidences for a possible lawsuit. What was said and written is pretty confusing, but it is absolutely certain that there was no violence or coercion. If there was anything between her and the accused educator, it was along the lines of mutual affections, but in the end, for some reason, Monica was disappointed in him. Mónika was then 15 years old.
In one of the recordings, Mónika talks about how she doesn't understand why, because he has very different tastes, but she was crazy about her tutor. She knows perfectly well that at the age of 15-16, if she had sexual relations voluntarily and there was no coercion, no violence, it is not a punishable act, even if her partner was her educator. That is why she must make a clever statement and deny her own role and make what happened look like abuse, because that is the only way he will be held liable under criminal law. For some reason, that is the goal, and it is even more than that.
Regardless of this, having sexual relations with a young person placed in the care of an educator, if such a thing has happened, is morally reprehensible to the highest degree, but it is not a crime in Romania to have sexual relations with a young person over the age of 14, and it is very unfair to judge the whole organisation set up by Father Böjte on the basis of such a case. It turns out that Mónika knows this very well, or has looked it up.
In another audio recording we have, Mónika expresses her worry that if the educator, Jancsi, is imprisoned, it should not be revealed that she was involved.
F*ck, I looked it up. The way it is with the juveniles, you get completely thrown off, I don't know what, fired from your job..., but not convicted. And I want him to be convicted. I want him to go to jail, damn motherf***er, over there..., next to Böjtike and Szabolcska. No, it must not be that I was also involved, because then he won't be convicted... (...) I'd rather want he goes to jail than me to be ashamed," Mónika declares in the audio material in their possession. On other occasions, she wrote to several people in text messages that the interview they had done with her was " a fake ".
You cannot command your heart, just as I could not. So the interview is fake, so is the article, she wrote. And then she admitted that she was quasi the initiator.
She wrote that after all, they were lovers, which she then became ashamed of, and now she won't stop until she puts him into the jail: "Someone once said to me that I was like a revenge-seeking lover, a neglected one. Oh yes, you hit the nail right on the head."
We recall these details only to show how different the reality is, even in the words of the accuser, from what has been reported in the left-liberal press in recent months. Otherwise, Mónica is more like a victim: a chain link and an exploited person in a discrediting operation orchestrated from above.
YOUNG PEOPLE RAISED IN SOVATA HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ABUSE, THEY SAY, THAT THEY HAVE GOTTEN A SLAP AT MOST VERY RARELY
Why Mónika is afraid of being shamed was told to us by another former child who asked not to be named, who lived in the same house in the home in Szováta where Mónika lived at the same time. The young girl spent many years in Szováta, raised by the same couple. She claims that in nearly ten years she has not experienced any extreme ill-treatment from their educators.
Of course, we were sometimes yelled at, we were punished, for example to room confinement, but other than a slap, I did not experienced any hitting or beating, she said. The former youngster remembers that it was not easy with them and that the above-mentioned disciplinary measures were taken when they over-stretched the limits. Such were the escapades, especially if they took younger children with them, or if tensions were raised between the children. It was reportedly not uncommon for the girls to get rough with each other, even to the point of fighting. Mónika often got into conflicts with her peers.
When the scandal broke, because rumours started to spread that Mónika was claiming that her educator, Jancsi, had done this and that to her, I didn't believe it. I didn't knew the educator to be like that. The majority thought so. For a long time the case was a topic of discussion in the home, and everyone was heard. I still say that I don't believe it's true. In all the years I spent there, I never saw János making advances towards the girls, said Mónika's former fellow resident.
A BOY WHO GROWN UP WITH MONICA IN SOVATA ALSO TOLD JOURNALISTS ABOUT THIS, BUT IT DIDN'T SUITED TO THE ALLEGATIONS, IT WAS CUT OUT
The same opinion was expressed by a boy who told the investigative journalist of Átlátszó Erdély that he saw rather that Mónika approached the educator, but he rejected her. He recalled the evening when they stayed up late, he was still on the computer, the others had gone to bed. Mónika wanted to send him away too, apparently so that she could be alone with János. The educator told her that he would tell him when to go to bed, that he could stay and continue playing. This story, which does not suited to the story concept set up and told by Monika, was not reported in the published articles. While Mónika is constantly underscrutinised throughout the long interview, without a single cross-question, Tünde Szabó tried to confuse the boy with a long series of questions.
It is interesting that the initiator of the conversation with the journalist, the boy's introducer, is the fellow child who is the latest actor in the Böjte-Crusade. The young man, who runs a video channel and has a performing ambition, after the interview with him that was for some reason not published, started to talk about allegations of abuse and abuse in live reports on his own video channel. He then spoke anonymously in a telephone interview, commenting on in which he promised more live reports and to share his own stories. Recently, in a YouTube video lasting more than two hours, he raises the level and even surpasses what Mónika has said. He also claims that Mónika's story is true, he is a witness to it.
Meanwhile, educators in Deva claim that a few weeks ago, the boy was trying to comfort them and accuse Monika of lying, and that he even collected and forwarded witnesses to journalists to refute Monika. Part of this process is an audio recording, which is also in our possession. We also have video material in which he calls Mónika a liar and attacks her.
A MEDICAL EXPERT HAS DETERMINED THAT THE GIRL, WHO WAS REPORTEDLY ABUSED BY HER FATHER FOR YEARS BUT WAS ALLEGEDLY PERSUADED BY BÖJTE’S TEAM NOT TO DENOUNCE THE CASE, IS STILL A VIRGIN...
If all this was not enough, a few days ago another accusation in the press was refuted, quite clearly. In those weeks, when one after another the accusations of abuse and cover-ups in the Böjte homes were pulled out of the pockets by the press, there was also a story about a girl who had been placed in the home in quite unimaginable circumstances, who had cut herself and allegedly told an educator that her father had repeatedly abused her sexually. At first, the educator allegedly dissuaded the girl from reporting the incident. However, an investigation was later launched. A recent forensic medical examination found that the girl is still a virgin and does not really know how a sexual act took place.
WHO IS REALLY THE VICTIM AND OF WHOM?
Who is to blame for spreading false accusations? The now mother of two who has been exposed face and name in the large public twice - even if they are excusing themselves that she was the one who insisted? Attention-seeking young people who have clearly suffered a series of traumas from birth that might as well be attacking as a self-defensive reaction? Or those who have exploited them for months for money, for their own professional self-polishing glorification? If all the professional unethicalities described above were not enough, the largely fabricated stories of young people with mental health problems who have grown up without parents are also being exploited by very specific efforts to make money. Even last week, Mérce, after the many skins they have been already pulled off the case: offered the readers for money the book of Rita Perintfalvi - whose motto 'Truth sets you free' is quoted by Mónika - which is dealing with the cases of Böjte's homes.
To blame the victim would be highly unethical. We do not. But falsely accusing someone of a crime is a criminal act. In our view, Monica and the others are victims, victims of a master machine that has used them to smear a Franciscan monk and a unique children's rescue service that has been operating for 30 years. I would have preferred to avoid this article for that very reason. I contacted Monica and wrote a long, sympathetic letter to let her know that audio recordings and other evidence prove that she was not telling the truth about the violence. For several hours we could not come to a conclusion. She did not agreed to allow me to publish what she had written. Perhaps that would suffice: when she had nothing more to say, she referred us to the lawyer provided by the “Átlátszó” team and to Parászka Boróka if we wanted anything...
FATHER BÖYTE TO THE PRESS ATTACKING HIM: DO NOT DESTROY THIRTY YEARS OF WORK!
In May, we filmed a discussion forum in Szováta with the founder of the Saint Francis of Deva Foundation, with Brother Csaba Böjte, where he invited journalists who accused him to ask him questions openly without hesitation. Our report on this, with many unique facts, can be found here
