Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel,,
12 April 2017 Wednesday of Holy Week
" alas for that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born!’ Matthew 26
Unfortunately not only 2000 years ago were there traitors , Judases , but even today there are those alive ,who for money are causing misery to others! In the Ukraine and in other countries unfortunate young people were persuaded, conned with money, treachery that they topple their own lawfully elected governments and by serving foreign interests they really push their own people into chaos.
Lets play with the idea ….how different would have everything been if on Palm Sunday the community of the pharisees , the chief council would have been there beside the choir of children shouting hosanna , how different would the world have been, if on Good Friday the contemporaries of Jesus would not have chosen the murderer Barabbas but the Lord of life , Christ!? Most probably our Lord Jesus christ would have sent His disciples in pairs, triumphantly to spread the commandment of love throughout the whole world and this way how much sorrow and suffering could have been spared….But this is not how it has happened ….unfortunately , two thousand years ago mean, selfish people , they even found traitors among the apostles , who naively, foolishly , for illusory money they betrayed their Redeemer!!In the stillness of Wednesday of Holy Week I ask You my Lord with prayerful love, to help us break the reign of sin , give us strength that today’s man decides to be by Your side , by peaceful, hardworking love and such a tomorrow where people are not lead by greedy desire for power but by love of justice and fair play !
With hope , that can never die ,

One of the Twelve, the man called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, 'What are you prepared to give me if I hand him over to you?' They paid him thirty silver pieces, and from then onwards he began to look for an opportunity to betray him.
Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus to say, 'Where do you want us to make the preparations for you to eat the Passover?' He said, 'Go to a certain man in the city and say to him, "The Master says: My time is near. It is at your house that I am keeping Passover with my disciples." ' The disciples did what Jesus told them and prepared the Passover.
When evening came he was at table with the Twelve. And while they were eating he said, 'In truth I tell you, one of you is about to betray me.' They were greatly distressed and started asking him in turn, 'Not me, Lord, surely?' He answered, 'Someone who has dipped his hand into the dish with me will betray me. The Son of man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will, but alas for that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born!' Judas, who was to betray him, asked in his turn, 'Not me, Rabbi, surely?' Jesus answered, 'It is you who say it.’
