Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel….
Tuesday 11 July 2017 The Memorial of Saint Benedict, Abbot, the chief patron Saint of Europe….
To go to theology in 1982 , to give up on the idea of a family , children , seemed like a big sacrifice , it would have been easier to give up my hand and foot , anything but the laughter of children . I knew it in my mind that next to Christ’s life-sacrifice, the priest also has to make his own own sacrifice.
Yes the priest of the new testament steps to the altar not with the blood of rams , bulls but with his own bridled blood, and because of my love for God and my people , I sad yes to the priestly vocation and all the sacrifices that go with it ! During the dark years of communism I did not even think of Christ’s beautiful promise : “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold,* and will inherit eternal life. “ Matthew 19, 29 Praise be to God , Our Lord Jesus Christ’s promise was fulfilled , because in reality I received not hundred , in fact a thousand times more children, children that I have ever dreamt for ,and also made my heart “bigger” so I can love all of them as my own ! I also hope that I can grow up to the second promise as well !
I testify that it is worthwhile to trust in Christ’s promises !!
With love,
Father Csaba

27 Then Peter said in reply, ‘Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?’ 28Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold,* and will inherit eternal life.
