Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel….

Love ! Our Lord Jesus Christ declared love as the basic law of our existence, the main commandment ! The existence , raison d’être of an apple tree is the apple and unless it bears fruit then it becomes superfluous, has no purpose and we cut it down !According to our Master our reason for existence is to love, first and foremost to love our Lord,God , and also love our Creator’s precious creations, the creatures as well ! By the will of Jesus Christ Christianity is the religion of love ! Naturally reasoning also has a very important place, because we have to love each other wisely , sensibly , as based on an old popular observation without wisdom even the road to hell can be paved by good intention !Truth also has to be shining in our lives , our love always has to be dressed in truth , because the sickly doting , smothering love does not always benefit the object of love !Then willpower also plays a big role because we have to love one another with a love that endures through thick and thin ! Love can even give meaning to sport, physical force, military union because the objects of our love , our fellow human being"s existence , the blessed peace has to be protected! We can continue on because every other human ability, good quality , capability and willingness are very important in the satchel of the one who embarks and wants to proceed successfully on the road of love ! According to Christ’s teaching , the reason and purpose for our being is love , because God Himself is love !

The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[b] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22, 34-40
