Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel….Sunday 5 November Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time
Glad tidings for every day….
...You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. ….
On the feast of Saint Imre let’s raise our gaze onto our Master , and may our hearts be filled with joy that our the Saints are our brothers !!! Our Master condemns hypocrisy today ! The same way as the gardener in one swift action removes the weed for from his garden , let’s also wipe out all sins from our hearts ! Let’s remove the “make belief “, pretence life of ourselves and let’s not "role-play “ but live our own lives ! Two ways are open to us : the way of Cain , the way of a man who has a “role-playing” , making false sacrifices , or Abel’s way whose thoughts , deeds are in equilibrium , whose life and sacrifice is pleasing to God !
Let’s look into ourselves, how would I rate myself on trustworthiness, honesty ? How often does it happen what we condemn in others, that we magnanimously allow ourselves to do , since one cannot be so “rigid “ ….How ugly is this hypocrisy,pharisaism, this feigned “ I am alright “! I do note have to pretend to be a happy wife, a normal family man , an obedient child but I should really be one ! Because one can get caught out very easily and then all our words become meaningless , and just like a bowl of soup, with a fly in it, we become disgusting ! Why do I only play-act the happy saint , when in reality I can become truly happy ?!
Saint Imre was regarded by his contemporaries as a saint , and not removed from the world , or in the thick of political power , but he lived in bustle of real life , even on the battlefields he proved that it is good to live with Christ !! Not based on his writings or for the sake of appearances , but based on his life , deeds was he canonised and made a role model for the young people of all ages ! Living in a great royal court , in wealth , a young man could have indulged in anything , but he loves and follows our Lord Jesus Christ ! Saint Imre just like all our the other saints of all ages were made saints by their infinite love towards Christ !
With love,
Father Csaba

Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying,
"The scribes and the Pharisees
have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.
Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you,
but do not follow their example.
For they preach but they do not practice.
They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry
and lay them on people's shoulders,
but they will not lift a finger to move them.
All their works are performed to be seen.
They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,
greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation 'Rabbi.'
As for you, do not be called 'Rabbi.'
You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers.
Call no one on earth your father;
you have but one Father in heaven.
Do not be called 'Master';
you have but one master, the Christ.
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
Matthew 23, 1-12
