Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Saturday 23 June 2018
"But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 'So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today."
Matthew 6:24-34
It’s easy to get lost, go mad in the trifles of the everyday ! What will we eat, what will we drink, what will be paying out our electricity and gas bills from ?! What will happen when we get old, if we become sick , if people will think this or that about us ! If we get bogged down at this level then the list of the if..if..when.. will be never ending ! I suppose the evil spirit could also be called if..if..when .. , because by these real, true problems it tries to pull us down , mingle us with the mud of the world ! The evil one once to convince us not to raise our heads, not to open our wings , not to soar high to our God to the kingdom of heaven's eternal values , but that we get lost in the worries, problems of our everyday existence, in the superficial concerns of our daily life and the perception of others !
Jesus’ beautiful words always encourage me to dare and embark on the way of love , to dare and dream big, to weave dreams and open up with trust towards my fellow human beings ! Over long years I experienced that Jesus Christ is not only the Son of the living God , but a good friend as well , on whom we can always count on , who kind-heartedly always fulfils what He promised in the gospel! This is why I encourage you that during the summer vacations , holidays lets dare to quieten down , wisely thinking dare to make those changes, decisions in our careers that will make us the brethren of our fellow human beings and at the same time will turn our faces thirsting for love towards our creator God !
With love,
Father Csaba

'No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. 'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, "What will we eat?" or "What will we drink?" or "What will we wear?" For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 'So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today.
