Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel …. Tuesday 9 October 2018 .
"Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10, 42
One of the big gift of my life was when I got to Egypt , into the cave of the Great Saint Anthony ! I was sitting outside in the desert in the small cave , the size of a cell by myself , I was praying and an infinite inner peace , joy filled my heart !! It is good for me to be here , I would like to move here at least for a month , week , I thought to myself ! Whenever God speaks to me He always speaks patiently, with goodness , but now I felt that He was sad, perhaps exasperated as well : “ Why would you need to lech after , wander around , all of Europe’s churches are empty , there too I am alone in the sanctuary , you don’t have to travel far to find me !”
I was sitting in the cave of the Great Saint Anthony and I was overcome by a great shame . Our sanctuaries , churches the houses of our creator God , and really most of them stand there closed nearly all day long, empty , deserted ! Whilst in the meantime we gather for one or more “ functions”, but apart from that we very rarely drop in for one or more quiet chit-chat , to have a conversation , to pray in God’s house !!
Come lets choose the better part , that what we will never loose and crouch down with prayerful love at the feet of our creator God ! Come lets fill our sanctuaries !
Lets fill our churches with joyous songs praising God , prayer, life !!! In my childhood we sang a popular song : “ The square is ours because we grew up here !” The church is going to be ours , if we fill it with prayerful love !!
On bended knees in front of the Infinity,

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."
