Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Wednesday 12 December 2018
"learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11,28
The wise saying of two thousand years , but did it get into our consciousness , our mind ? The great Ghandi said it, that Christianity is wonderful, but Christians are like the stones in the blessed water if you smash them they are dry on the inside the life-giving water does not permeate through them !
Indeed is it possible to win a battle with gentleness , humility ? Saint Martin , when the Frankish broke into the Roman Empire and under the leadership of his emperor ,he as the supreme commander faced the intruders , on the battlefield he had the courage to say lets not conquer the people , but try to convince these people with kind words ! It is better together , to build God’s kingdom , then warring , hunting each other down ! !It is amazing but the battle did not occur that day . Saint Martin put the arms down and went to the enemy lines , proclaimed the gospel and the Frankish people converted ! These are the people who protected Europe then , when the Moors have already occupied the whole of the Iberian peninsula , and they were already fighting in the present area of France ! The battle in 732 , was going on at the tomb of the national saint of the Frankish people , below Poitiers , this where Charles Martel stopped the advancement of the Saracens ! 1700 years have passed since the birth of Saint Martin and today in France more than 700 churches are dedicated as a tribute to Saint Martin proclaiming , that the gentle dialogue , the humble word will produce its fruit for the benefit of mankind !
May God grant us that we not only hear Jesus Christ’s precious gospel , but that it maybe the compass of our lives , in our decisions , words showing the way , our lighthouse ! Lets dare as good sisters and brothers gently, humbly , address each other with kind words , and then we will step onto the land of miracles !!
With love ,
Father Csaba

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
