Wednesaday 28 December 2016  Feast of the Holy Innocents.

A child or a career ?! My relationship with God or my workplace ? Joseph had to make a decision on the  one hand the life of the  Child, the infant Jesus , the family on the other his house, his workshop , his friends , the orders placed, his career !! Joseph comes to a decision quickly, he decides by life , takes the Child, his wife and under the cover of darkness at night without taking anything goes to a foreign land , saving the Child’s life , his living relationship with the Christ Child, because for him that is important , the greatest value!! Based on my decisions ,how do I see what rates as the highest importance for me ? Do I say “yes” to life , the child , the family even if this is to my disadvantage or if for them I have to give up something !! 

May God grant us that we are not lead by the example of the murderous Herod but the beautiful example of Saint Joseph may lead us !

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there till I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him."And he rose and took the child and his mother by night, and departed to Egypt,15and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, "Out of Egypt have I called my son."Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, was in a furious rage, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time which he had ascertained from the wise men.Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah:"A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be consoled, because they were no more.”
