Often it does not make sense to get down on our knees again and again, to try and embrace values , although they attract us , yet they seem to slip out from our hands , but grace purifies us and raises us up even when seemingly our purity seems to evaporate. Sinners, feeble, fallible , pilgrims perhaps we are the hundredth but we can  count on God , because our journey is fraught with danger and we have a great need for His help .
