Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary….
Friday 8 September 2017
I am sitting at the start of the school year , children , adults are shuffling around , they knock on the door of our house, some come with great joy, others depart sadly, , around the middle of September there is a lot of hustle and bustle, excitement !! Slowly everything settles down around me here in our home named in honour of Saint Anne in Gyergyószentmiklós , it is nearly midnight, I should go to sleep but I am observing with prayerful reverence Saint Joseph tossing around in his bed ! He can’t go to sleep either , he’s got to make a decision , he overcomes his hurt male pride because there and then all he knows is that the baby is not his !Joseph puts aside his disappointment, his fears , his own cherished dreams and gives himself to God’s holy will: ""Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.
For it is through the Holy Spirit
that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus “ Matthew 1, 20
I admire the young couple’s courage with which they throw themselves into the arms of God , they accept the Infinite love to become flesh , the baby, the incarnate second divine person , Jesus Christ !! Mary with infinite trust accepts the great challenge , and with Saint Joseph , paying attention to God,by Her side , opening his wings and together with his young wife is flying into the unknown tomorrow !!
Yes my, our duty also is to trust in God and saying “yes” to His holy will lets embark on the 2017-2018 school year with a hopeful heart !! Our road may lead us to Golgotha , but to the call of my God I am not afraid to take the hands of our dear carers , take on my lap the little Jesus , in the form of troubled, needy children of the XX century and get going quietly on the rocky road of the gospel !!
My thoughts with prayerful love are with all those women and men who are willing to stand by me saying “yes” to life , to our children entrusted into our care and take on the new school year !
With a grateful heart ,

Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.
When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,
but before they lived together,
she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.
Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man,
yet unwilling to expose her to shame,
decided to divorce her quietly.
Such was his intention when, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
"Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.
For it is through the Holy Spirit
that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill
what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,
which means "God is with us.”
Matthew 1, 18-23
