Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel….Thursday 9 November 2017
Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome
After what kind of pleasures do you stretch your hands out for ?? The ones offered to our Lord Jesus Christ in the wilderness by the devil , consumption, possession, lust for power ? Or for the eternal joys offered by Jesus ? " I want that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”- says the Lord ! God wants to share with us the joy of being, of life, of love, of creation, of wisdom ! Yes our Creator wants to share with us the joy of the continuing creation of the world ! He wants us to feed the hungry, with our developed resources , our agricultural knowledge to multiply the grain of wheat so that everybody will have bread on their table . He sends us today as well to console the grieving ones, to heal the sick in our hospitals , that we teach the ignorants in well-prepared schools , universities ….
Ou Master would like to keep away from us the “pleasures” destroying , degrading our world, but He rejoices even today seeing all that is to our advantage , stemming from our real successes and blesses the Father who saw it fit to share it with us His children out of goodness , mercy , wisdom the pure God-given joys .
Do not only see the prohibitive rules my brother, but also the wide opened door that is in front of you ! Trust in your God and embark on the royal road of the eight beatitudes !!
With love,
Father Csaba

Since the Passover of the Jews was near,
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves,
as well as the money-changers seated there.
He made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money-changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign can you show us for doing this?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews said,
"This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his Body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.
John 2, 13-22
