Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Monday 12 March 2018
Are there miracles today ? Lets see what is a miracle ?! According to the Catholic Encyclopaedia : a miracle is an event , that is created by God’s intervention suspending the order of nature. In the case of Jesus a miracle is never autotelic!
The miracles of Christ and the apostles proved that the Kingdom of God , as a salvation has arrived !
I dare to say that even today many, many miracles happen ! If I just look around my own household then I can confidently say that all that is happening around the houses of the Saint Francis Foundation is a miracle ! A miracle, because true enough we also give Jesus the three loaves of bread and the five fish , but the fact that we can assure day after day the feeding of several thousand children , whatever anybody may say is a miracle ! The children themselves are a miracle as well , because it is true that we raise them lovingly, but if I think that if we add up the teachers’, parents’ and our own efforts something does not make sense in the end results ! After adding the numbers together , the end results are much more than our work ! I think that most of the children are better than what they should be in today’s world ! Yes wherever I look I can see the 12 basketful of remnants the source which can only be the good Lord’s intervention !The many .many nice results of our work , I credit to our Heavenly Father !
Seeing these miracles again and again I fall on my knees , humbly glorifying my Lord, my God ! But I am not only delighted because we could experience the love of Divine Providence but also because the miracles blooming around me speak of that Kingdom of God that we are all waiting for , and we are praying for the fulfilment of ! The little snowdrops the heralds of spring , the everyday miracles happening around us are all the encouraging messages of the approaching kingdom of God ! There is hope , God lives , and even today with a strong hand and outstretched arm is working for His children !
With a living faith in my heart!

When the two days were over, he went from that place to Galilee (for Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honour in the prophet’s own country). When he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, since they had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the festival; for they too had gone to the festival.
Then he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had changed the water into wine. Now there was a royal official whose son lay ill in Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.’ The official said to him, ‘Sir, come down before my little boy dies.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your son will live.’ The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way. As he was going down, his slaves met him and told him that his child was alive. So he asked them the hour when he began to recover, and they said to him, ‘Yesterday at one in the afternoon the fever left him.’ The father realized that this was the hour when Jesus had said to him, ‘Your son will live.’ So he himself believed, along with his whole household. Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.
