Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel..Friday 25 May 2018
In our tangled, swirling world , if you look for hope, you want to see with your own eyes our Heavenly Father’s caring goodness , then gaze in wonderment at a father’s , mother’s caring, protective love towards their child!! I received this photo from a dear colleague ! Robi grew up with us, I baptised him , I know him from early childhood, he was in my arms many times !! I know him and yet I cannot understand him! Where does this great fatherly love towards his child come from ?!
Lets stop in our fast paced world , lets make a cup of tea and gaze in wonderment at this picture ! Lets ask ourselves the question , where does so much affection, goodness come from in him, in us ? How can we without even thinking go against our own comfort, our everyday interests to take on and carry the conceived , born fragile life ? How much sacrifice, effort, time , patience is needed for the acceptance , raising of one or more children, and yet a father , a mother undertakes this smiling, without complaining , joyfully !? Where does this immeasurable fatherly, motherly love come from, that just fills the heart of the young people , like an endless torrent and is capable of changing, sanctifying two grownup teenagers ? For themselves, for making progress in their studies , for anything it is so difficult to bring a big sacrifice , but well it is good to get up for a small child crying in his sleep , for the flickering tiny life , to put everything aside and serve it with a caring, protective love ! We all feel within ourselves the weakness, the selfishness that pulls us down , but how wonderful it is, that we still can bend down , humbly serve , be at the beck and call of the tiny life !! The fatherly , motherly love sanctifies , I believe that somewhere here , through the service of life does God’s beautiful face shine in us and through us !!
With love,
Father Csaba
translated by dr k.e.
He left that place and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan. And crowds again gathered around him; and, as was his custom, he again taught them.
Some Pharisees came, and to test him they asked, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?’ He answered them, ‘What did Moses command you?’ They said, ‘Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.’ But Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your hardness of heart he wrote this commandment for you. But from the beginning of creation, “God made them male and female.” “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.’
Then in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter. He said to them, ‘Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.’
