Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Friday 3 August 2018
"Prophets are not without honour except in their own country and in their own house.” Matthew 13,54
How much do I honour my teachers, carers, my priest, the one who tries to guide and direct me to goodness , beauty?? Who is my guide, my Master, my teacher ? Is there anybody to whom I can look up to with trust and from whom I ask, accept guidance , advice in my life’s “maze”, labyrinths ?? Do I have a spiritual guide, a father- confessor , a Master ?
I learn to speak, write , driving a car, or a foreign language , every but everything I learn from someone, then I ask you, can I learn my life-skills , differentiating between good and evil just by myself ?? Perhaps that is why there are so many failures, setbacks , difficulties in my life because I don’t ask for, don’t accept advice, guidance from people who are more experienced, wiser than I am ?
Let’s say a prayer for those , who so far in my life taught me to goodness beauty , educated me !
With love,
Father Csaba

Jesus came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue, so that they were astounded and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these deeds of power? Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all this?" And they took offence at him. But Jesus said to them, "Prophets are not without honour except in their own country and in their own house." And he did not do many deeds of power there, because of their unbelief.
