Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel 27 November 2018
"Beware that you are not led astray !” Luke 21,5
Unfortunately our world is infected by fear !! Most of the films shown in the movies , on television is about disasters , that mankind just manages to survive !! But the politicians, scientists , often we priests have a tendency to overdramatise the reality and at times like this we have the dark vision of an impending end of the world!
In different historical ages of our world there were times when the sea level was that low , that one could walk from the shores of Australia to Tasmania situated 200 kms away . But when I was in Egypt , they showed that the present water level of the sea compared to previous ones that were about a 100 meters higher , the greater part of today's barren, lifeless desert was under water , from which mountains have risen , fertile islands ! Our world is alive , but it has been changing continuously and this change is unstoppable , ongoing ! No matter how long the hot summer is autumn will come , and whoever does not get ready for winter surely they will be cold ! To the geological , political, social changes one has to get ready wisely, flexibly , with enduring work and not panicking , shouting about the end of the world, panicking, frightening our children and ourselves !
Towards the end of the Church’s year , the writings from the holy scripture show the final events in gloomy colours , but we do not have to carve wooden crosses , but by the light of the Advent candles we should have to get cradles, cots ready. !! I encourage , reassure everybody to calmly buy long-life milk , and do the necessary autumn work in the yard , since every Christian holding the Heavenly Father’s hand has to get ready for the spring to come and not for the catastrophe of the end of the world that will sweep away everything!
With love ,
Father Csaba

When some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts dedicated to God, Jesus said, "As for these things that you see, the days will come when not one stone will be left upon another; all will be thrown down." They asked him, "Teacher, when will this be, and what will be the sign that this is about to take place?" And he said, "Beware that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name and say, 'I am he!' and, 'The time is near!' Do not go after them. "When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end will not follow immediately." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and plagues; and there will be dreadful portents and great signs from heaven."
