Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Tuesday 12 February 2019
Hypocrites ! Hypocrisy ! Lets quieten down and look within myself, how much has this bad habit chastised by Jesus become ingrained in me !?
The man of our days very often is not “ existing “ only seems to be something we present, that is not what we actually are .During the past days we worked out the actual cost per the number of students using the budget for a Hungarian country school, also taking into account the number of "teaching days.” In that particular school the cost per day is five thousand five hundred forint . That means that every single school year is costing one million forint , This is how much money the taxpayers are paying every single student and this does not include any maintenance , building schools , nor any other expenses . I am asking, how much are the students, teachers actually doing for the taxpayers “donation” ?
Hypocrisy ! Unfortunately everyday happenings , to put in tenders for large amounts , make promises indiscriminately , then with the money received they give some form of account. Unfortunately the end result is that nothing comes of it . All sorts of so called “experts” have put in tenders for solving all sorts “made-up “ problems ! For example studies of the Hungarians living in the diaspora , reports using big words were prepared but just how much the people affected , communities in trouble profited from this is very questionable i.e. very little. Unfortunately , I know a group of such people who also putting in large tenders using photos of the children of the Saint Francis Foundation , then with a few face-painting tricks , and with a few banal offering give count of the money received from the tenders . . Hypocrisy !
We pretend that we pray , we pretend that we work , we pretend that we love one another and in the mean time we are scraping by like the barren fig tree ! This is how it is, lets not be surprised if Christ looking for fruit that we produced in our lives curses us . We can mislead ourselves , each other with hypocrisy , but we cannot mislead God . Lets sit down to study , we adults should do everything possible that the children really knuckle down to study , that the educational institutions kept up by a lot of money , may really become the citadels of knowledge , study , development, wisdom . For every single coin that came from the tax extorted from human labour , if you applied for it , at the last judgement you have to account for . Money that was tendered for is a talent , that if we do not make good use of , we can count on God’s judgement .
Hypocricy tries to worm its way in thousands of different ways into the deepest sanctuary our lives day after day , but lets not allow it, like a gardener the weed, lets get rid of it without mercy , because by growing “tall” it can suffocate us , killing everything that is valuable, important for us !!
Escaping from the sin of hypocrisy ,

The Word of God
Now when the Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around him, they noticed that some of his disciples were eating with defiled hands, that is, without washing them. (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they thoroughly wash their hands, thus observing the tradition of the elders; and they do not eat anything from the market unless they wash it; and there are also many other traditions that they observe, the washing of cups, pots, and bronze kettles.) So the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, ‘Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?’ He said to them, ‘Isaiah prophesied rightly about you hypocrites, as it is written,
“This people honours me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me;
in vain do they worship me,
teaching human precepts as doctrines.”
You abandon the commandment of God and hold to human tradition.’
Then he said to them, ‘You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition! For Moses said, “Honour your father and your mother”; and, “Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must surely die.” But you say that if anyone tells father or mother, “Whatever support you might have had from me is Corban” (that is, an offering to God)— then you no longer permit doing anything for a father or mother, thus making void the word of God through your tradition that you have handed on. And you do many things like this.’
