Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Saturday 4 May 2019
"It is I; do not be afraid.” Love is the force moving the world , fear paralyses not only me but all of us , in our thinking , our movement , it strangles us in all aspects of our lives , it hinders us in our growth , in our development ! The power of the God of Love makes our lives more fertile , fill it with light, shining ! Fear is the attack of the evil spirit , the presence of a murderer…..If I love then life will sprout from that around me , people will burst into bloom like the trees in the spring sunshine , if I emanate fear the way I live my life , then darkness feat will follow me, just like in the treacherous spring frost , life will cease to exist … let us stop and look at our Master in awe , who in the dark of the night , on the stormy sea looks up His apostles and lovingly encourages them :"It is I; do not be afraid.”
Jesus not only consoles , encourages but at the same time , with a strong hand gets the boat together with His friends to their destination.
During the quietness of the weekend lets take count of my acquaintances , friends ! Lets see how many have turned away from me in fear, terror, are there such people who live my sheer presence , my words , pronouncements as a threat ?! Of course I also have to take it into count that can I, do I want to give strength, courage , hope to my brothers living around me ?! All those who either though their own faults , or the faults of others get into trouble , drift into a storm , are being tossed about on the verge of physical destruction can they count on me ? Do people living around me dare to ask for consoling , encouraging help , have they experienced it when was I embraced by people with their hearts filled by gratitude ?
I was born in the image and likeness of God , how great would it be if this blessed beautiful feature of Jesus Christ, His consoling , encouraging , inspiring strength would also shine on my face as well !
With love,
Father Csaba

The Word of God
When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. But he said to them, Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.
