Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Wednesday 19 June 2019
"your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6,18
Slowly all we do is in the eye of the public ! Be it good or bad we quickly wash one’s dirty linen in public , we exhibit it in public display ! Jesus in today’s gospel is encouraging us to retreat and quietly in the company of our Heavenly Father we do our good deeds, we pray, we fast ! It is quite certain that we have to follow not only Christ who is active amongst people , but we also must follow our praying Master who in seclusion appears before our Heavenly Father !
I should also give it some consideration , that from my life , my everyday what should be relevant to the big wide world and what is of no concern of theirs ? What is it that really together with my brothers can be solved easier, quicker , better and what is it that it is only relevant between myself and my creator God ?! The beneficial silence , the lonely hours spent in the presence of God are like a healing balm for our souls !During the turmoil of the summer vacation lets try to withdraw into the interior castle of our creator Heavenly Father ! Jesus in the most critical periods of His life always retreated and spent nights in worshiping /adoration of God….. Quietened, calmed down , at peace with the world lets retreat into our hideaway !
With love ,
Father Csaba

The Word of God
‘Beware of practising your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
‘So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
‘And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
'And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
