Wednesday 30 November 2016-The feast of Saint Andrew the apostle with the Saint Andrew cross.

My Lord, You are willing so easily to approach trustingly  Andrew and the others, ask directly, honestly  them , but us as well to do things of  incredibly great consequences and behold there were and even today there are those who, even if stumbling but with a pure heart say “yes” to Your Holy Majesty and embark upon the way to fulfill Your will!!

I pray today , that we also dare to trust each other , we dare to ask honestly with a pure heart  and dare to look each other in the eye saying yes to these requests ! Grant us our Lord that our young people have the courage to turn to each other with love and either in marriage or other decisions that have consequences for a lifetime to say yes to these requests, holding each other’s hand , according to Your will embark on new roads, dreaming about a better world, have the courage to start new endeavours , making the tomorrows , the nice plans  to become a reality !!

As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.19 He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.

Matthew 4, 18-12

According to the gospel our Lord Jesus Christ only rejoiced once in happiness : the gospel writes that the Master sends the seventy-two disciples in pairs and ordered them not to take any gold-silver with them , but the should console the distressed, encourage the disheartened , heal the sick in one word be good to them , treat your brethren well. Jesus stays at home alone praying gently for His companions . Then slowly the disciples start slowly coming back and with a carefree joy, interrupting one another are recounting how many good deeds did the Heavenly Father carry out through them ……Jesus listening to them for a while  , then rejoicing in the Holy Spirit praising the heavenly Father , for having declared the joy of goodness , bringing joy to others to the “childlike” !

There is so much tension around us , at times like this in the early hours of the morning let us lift our hearts to the Heavenly Father, let us escape into the peace of the quiet tranquility of prayer , so we have the strength to solve the problems of the everyday !!

‘Do this,’ and he does it.” It is just this simple !

My Lord, I would like to be Your child who pays attention to You, obedient, fast , precise , successful  to do all that Your Holy Majesty asks , expects from me!! I would like Your holy will to be my daily nourishment  !!

When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” 

He said to him, “I will come and cure him.” 

The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed.

For I too am a man subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me.

And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. 

I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the Kingdom of heaven.”

Not easy to resist tasting the still warm homemade chocolate even for Father Csaba....but we are all human after all ..having seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory I just had to share this photo......

As a priest I get called quite frequently to visit the dying. When one sits there by the bedside and holds their hand , somehow you get the feeling , that in reality it makes no difference , how many hectares of land you posses, how big a house, bank account -all this is just junk ,  glass beads , it’s unimportant .

If a man in his life looses hope, trust , faith then somewhere love will be extinguished , there usually life is also extinguished followed by the tomorrow . No matter how nicely puts one the culture of death into words, no matter how nice a culture it is , it will still remain just that .

Sunday 27 November ..First Sunday of Advent.

Advent is a time for  keeping vigil, waiting ! I sat so often in train stations ,waiting for connections, trains but it never occurred to me to build a house there, to settle, make the waiting room into a permanent residence ! Thank you my Lord that in Your gospel today You warn us , that we have no permanent residence here on earth !! Grant me ,that here in this huge station called earth, in this wonderful waiting room I pay the most attention to ,have the desire  that I do not miss the meeting with You, that I do not loose  that connection, that is the most important for me!!

As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,

and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

Then two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left.

Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left.

Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into.

Therefore you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with-says our Master………in the anxieties of life”.

My Lord I am so preoccupied by so many things , help me to quieten down in the holy time of Advent and to turn my thoughts towards You, humbly embark on Your way , act in Your name , to carry out good deeds , truly , humbly , with cheerful simplicity like the blessed sun radiates its life-giving warmth onto our world !!

34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

By what I accomplish ,create , I also create myself. I am aware that I did not  become disabled  or got burnt out by raising children , but I was born to a more complete life.
