God is not yearning for obscured , indifferent, “invisible “ Christians . It is not enough if you don’t even hurt a fly. He is not resigned to be a henpecked husband or a t.v. watching wife , who manages well without you. It is important that the spiritual purity may not be a great empty space , but our hearts , lives should be filled by serving love , deeds of goodness and charity .

Our crucified and risen Lord ! Teach us how to fight the challenges of the everyday , so that our life maybe more complete . You bore patiently and humbly the burdens of human life , the same as the pains of Your death on the cross and sufferings . Help us , to accept our daily sufferings and conflicts , accept them as opportunities to grow and this way we may become more similar to You. Grant that we patiently and bravely bear the suffering in the hope that You support us .

There is only one way open to us : the way of love . Everything else is a no through road , that does not lead anywhere . If one could find a way to shorten the way through the hell of cruelty , then at least on Good Friday Christ would have stepped on it , but He did not do it . He persisted on the way of love through Holy Thursday, Good Friday right till His death on the cross, till the glorious victory on the dawn of Easter .

For me my Catholic faith is not laborious , it is not about struggling hard watching myself , to be cleansed , to bridle my body , spirit with different forms of exercises , I am relaxed about becoming perfect - it is good for me being a simple lesser Franciscan brother , who with a childlike faith nestles close to the Heavenly Father , Who accepts and loves him with all his weaknesses as well.

Doesn’t it seem like a routine , boring that we feed our bodies several times daily? Yet we still do not think about it as an unnecessary habit. It is at least as important to feed our souls regularly. The food nourishes our body just the same even when we it does not make our mouths water , then when we are ravenously hungry . Even if I cannot always feel great empathy the meeting with God , it still strengthens us. Man unfortunately is very often absent-minded, preoccupied and fallible and it is not certain that he can always dress his spirit into one’s Sunday best.
