If God entrusts me with a task I should not be expecting a payment or a thanks ! I have to thank God that He found me worthy to save His orphaned children . You found me worthy my Lord to heal the sick, to teach a child, to design a house . I should accomplish my task . How great it would be if this spirituality would permeate the Hungarian society ! ….

Life wants to give us newer and newer gifts , different ones than what we received yesterday , Saint Francis of Assisi said :” What earlier seemed sweet , became bitter in my mouth , and what was bitter , became sweet “. Again and again a door closes behind us , but in front of us another one always opens . It is a great pity, if someone keeps looking back and grumpily starts pulling on the handle of the closed door and they cannot move on.

Knowledge is not enough . We can die of thirst next to a life-giving spring as well , if we only think about the importance of water, but we don ’t bend down to draw water from it . We can know everything about God , love , but unless we set out on the journey stepping on the way of love with a heart driven by yearning, wanting more then we are lost .

When Saint Francis was praised by his companions , he said : “Do not praise me ! If someone else would have received such great graces as I, they could have arrived much further .” - This can also be turned around : If I would receive such temptations , difficult life situations , family background as another person, then it would come to light , where would I stand on the blessed life’s journey .

If only I could just pass on one thing to my children , if only I could just teach the one thing , then I would wish , that they have a living , personal relationship with God . I would like to take hold of their hands , I would lead them into the presence of God and I would introduce them. “ Look my Lord this is my child , have a talk and become friends !” “Look my child , here is my God , my companion !” Then I would discreetly withdraw so as to not to disturb this intimate relationship.

God is not yearning for obscured , indifferent, “invisible “ Christians . It is not enough if you don’t even hurt a fly. He is not resigned to be a henpecked husband or a t.v. watching wife , who manages well without you. It is important that the spiritual purity may not be a great empty space , but our hearts , lives should be filled by serving love , deeds of goodness and charity .
