Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel Monday 1 April 2019 

How good it would be if the illnesses , faults of our children , our loved ones’, each other’s instead of being divulged , we would take them with caring love to Jesus Christ in our prayers ! If Jesus could heal the royal official’s son from a distance , then why could He not help your child , the ones we are praying for ?! Do I believe in the healing power , life giving infinite  love of our Creator God ? Lets take into count those whose suffering, illness or even sinful life cause us as well pain and humbly, trustingly lets ask the physician of all physicians , Jesus Christ , to give them healing , freedom/ release , return to their  family,community in strength , health ! Out of love , accepting God’s will it is not a sin to ask for a miracle , but a  sincere profession of faith of a Christian in the omnipotence of God!

With trust in the almighty  God capable to give healing ,

The Word of God

When the two days were over, he went from that place to Galilee (for Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honour in the prophet’s own country). When he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, since they had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the festival; for they too had gone to the festival.

Then he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had changed the water into wine. Now there was a royal official whose son lay ill in Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.’ The official said to him, ‘Sir, come down before my little boy dies.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your son will live.’ The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way. As he was going down, his slaves met him and told him that his child was alive. So he asked them the hour when he began to recover, and they said to him, ‘Yesterday at one in the afternoon the fever left him.’ The father realized that this was the hour when Jesus had said to him, ‘Your son will live.’ So he himself believed, along with his whole household. Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.

John 4:43-54

We meet with God in the holy Eucharist , reading the Holy Scriptures - but also visiting the poor , taking in the children in trouble we can embrace the same God . “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me “ -says our Lord Jesus Christ .

Jesus is not talking about ruling out the cross from our life, but about, that we carry it .

The Lord’s ways are not always our ways , but at time like these very humbly one has to stop and suddenly become aware that , I am alone -and" For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? “ Mk 8 , 36. At times like this one has to turn around and go everywhere where you hope, believe that you’ll find your Lord God .

Mary replied " : “ Behold the handmaid of the Lord : let it be done to me according to Your words!” Mary listens to the Lord ! Who am I listening to ? Whose word, request guides me in my decisions !! For God , my Creator did I do something willingly in this time of Lent ?

You have to learn to laugh at your own failures and willingly , stubbornly if need be, start  everything from the beginning…. The comfortable languishing in a comfortable blind alley cannot be an alternative .

How wonderful it is that the Blessed Virgin does not start out from what She is capable of doing , what She feels like doing , what She has the talent for But from what God is asking from Her .

Her reply is :38  “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1,38)

This thought lead me through many difficulties .

Often I also felt, that I am also too small and feeble for a task , it is beyond me . Then I always recalled Mary’s “yes” . Lets not start out, from what am I capable do, one created from handful of dust, but lets look at what is God asking from me .

By making excuses then I am only belittling my own faults, denying them , this way I don’t want to nor can I change them , I cannot remedy them , they will remain within me , and unfortunately slowly , gradually they can become the breeding grounds for greater sins as well . Being caught up in sins I am drifting further and further away from my dreams, my life’s beautiful, noble goals , I’ll become lonely , a torso , like a house without a roof, uninhabitable or like a barrel , that is no longer held together by the hoops . God will not take away my freewill , He is standing at the door , knocking but the decision is in my hand.

One’s heart is meant for loving, giving , donating. A person's peril is when they withdraw within themselves, if they live only for themselves . It  maybe strange , but I believe that a good man is like a clean well , from which no matter how much they draw on , nevertheless it is always full of clean, fresh water .

In the life of a nation remorse,  to start anew should consist of having to get up , we shake ourselves , we do not grieve, lament, because that will either sap all of our vitality or else it will encourage us to take revenge , however again, a thousand times , a hundred thousand times  if need be we get going, so that we sanctify that land , where we live to the glory of God  and to the joy of the people living here.
