Father Csaba’s reflection on the gospel….
23 July 2017 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time
I am very grateful that our Lord Jesus Christ did not entrust with pulling out the weed, pursuing the sinners ! We do not have to find with the darkness it is enough if where you are you try to light a light ! Become a blazing light ! Shine like the stars in the night , the rest is up to God !
With love,
Father Csaba

Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds, saying:
"The kingdom of heaven may be likened
to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
While everyone was asleep his enemy came
and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off.
When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
The slaves of the householder came to him and said,
'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?
Where have the weeds come from?'
He answered, 'An enemy has done this.'
His slaves said to him,
'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds
you might uproot the wheat along with them.
Let them grow together until harvest;
then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters,
"First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning;
but gather the wheat into my barn."'"
He proposed another parable to them.
"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed
that a person took and sowed in a field.
It is the smallest of all the seeds,
yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants.
It becomes a large bush,
and the 'birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.'"
He spoke to them another parable.
"The kingdom of heaven is like yeast
that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour
until the whole batch was leavened."
All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables.
He spoke to them only in parables,
to fulfill what had been said through the prophet:
I will open my mouth in parables,
I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation
of the world.
Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house.
His disciples approached him and said,
"Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."
He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man,
the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom.
The weeds are the children of the evil one,
and the enemy who sows them is the devil.
The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
Just as weeds are collected and burned up with fire,
so will it be at the end of the age.
The Son of Man will send his angels,
and they will collect out of his kingdom
all who cause others to sin and all evildoers.
They will throw them into the fiery furnace,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun
in the kingdom of their Father.
Whoever has ears ought to hear."

Lets walk today as well pleasing God, lets fulfil with a devout heart His holy will !!! There are so many opportunities to practice mercy ! Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
12 At that time wJesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and xthey began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, y“Look, your disciples are doing zwhat is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.” 3 He said to them, a“Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him: 4 how he entered the house of God and ate bthe bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful for him to eat nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have you not read cin the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless? 6 I tell you, dsomething greater than the temple is here. 7 And if you had known ewhat this means, f‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For gthe Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

We are tired , we are weighed down by real burdens , but we are still not going to our Lord Jesus Christ awaiting us in the Blessed Sacrament ?! Yes the Lord is calling us with great love , because He would like to refresh us , to enrich us with strength , impetus, to lead us to such new, wise , decisions but we have not got the time to going His holy presence and there in the presence of His life-giving grace to become stronger !! Lets try to make a decision that from now on we spend at least one hour weekly on our own in the presence of the blessed Sacrament in either a church or chapel !! God is waiting for us and as a good hen to protect us with anxious care , to lead us into a community , into peace !!
I encourage you with great love , sit down quietly in front of the altar and let yourself to be addressed , ask our Creator to be part of our lives , to embrace us the way only He knows how ! Our God is good company and if people can sense , that I live my life with such a wonderful friend , then many people will want to join our “circle of friends “! Lets decide by the side of Christ and hurrying along to find the very first church to find an opportunity for a quiet time of adoration !

Towns , people , countries are born, then they start to decline and perish! Is this legitimate ? According to Jesus’ words no :Repent and you’ll live !!!! Lets pray for the sinners, the arrogant countries inciting wars , so that they convert, repent, seek forgiveness and live, prosper till the end of time !! It is very difficult to believe that God’s commandment is our only compass leading us to life, and without the ten commandments no matter how great a country is , like a barrel that lost its hoops it falls apart , gets lost !!
We are not praying for the demise of the sinners as Jesus did not die on the cross so that we get lost but for the sinners conversion so that they can live their peaceful, Christ- childlike free lives in their homeland !
With a hopeful heart,
Father Csaba

20 Then he began to reproach the cities in which most of his deeds of power had been done, because they did not repent. 21‘Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22But I tell you, on the day of judgement it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23And you, Capernaum,
will you be exalted to heaven?
No, you will be brought down to Hades.
For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24But I tell you that on the day of judgement it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom than for you.

Even today there are people glowing with enthusiasm , who hear Jesus’ call and embark on a way to be good and where they appear to do good , to make our world a better place !! I believe that around us as well many of them hear this and day after day according to the best of their ability carry out to do what God prompts them to do !! Lets look up to them with with pride and joy side with them !!

Jesus said to his disciples: "As you go, proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven is close at hand. Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin-diseases, drive out devils.
You received without charge, give without charge. Provide yourselves with no gold or silver, not even with coppers for your purses, with no haversack for the journey or spare tunic or footwear or a staff, for the labourer deserves his keep.
'Whatever town or village you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave.
As you enter his house, salute it, and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come back to you. And if anyone does not welcome you or listen to what you have to say, as you walk out of the house or town shake the dust from your feet. In truth I tell you, on the Day of Judgement it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.”

Tuesday 11 July 2017 The Memorial of Saint Benedict, Abbot, the chief patron Saint of Europe….
To go to theology in 1982 , to give up on the idea of a family , children , seemed like a big sacrifice , it would have been easier to give up my hand and foot , anything but the laughter of children . I knew it in my mind that next to Christ’s life-sacrifice, the priest also has to make his own own sacrifice.
Yes the priest of the new testament steps to the altar not with the blood of rams , bulls but with his own bridled blood, and because of my love for God and my people , I sad yes to the priestly vocation and all the sacrifices that go with it ! During the dark years of communism I did not even think of Christ’s beautiful promise : “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold,* and will inherit eternal life. “ Matthew 19, 29 Praise be to God , Our Lord Jesus Christ’s promise was fulfilled , because in reality I received not hundred , in fact a thousand times more children, children that I have ever dreamt for ,and also made my heart “bigger” so I can love all of them as my own ! I also hope that I can grow up to the second promise as well !
I testify that it is worthwhile to trust in Christ’s promises !!

27 Then Peter said in reply, ‘Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?’ 28Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold,* and will inherit eternal life.

‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.
Amazing , our Lord Jesus Christ is not saying that I have healed you, but that your faith has healed you ! Otherwise in His homeland seeing the unbelief of people Jesus made a comment upon this :”But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. “Make 6,4-6
With faltering faith my Lord I beseech You with trust hurry to my aid so I do not get lost in my unbelief !

18 While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader of the synagogue* came in and knelt before him, saying, ‘My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.’ 19And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples. 20Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from haemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak, 21for she said to herself, ‘If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.’ 22Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.’ And instantly the woman was made well. 23When Jesus came to the leader’s house and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a commotion,24he said, ‘Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping.’ And they laughed at him. 25But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. 26And the report of this spread throughout that district.

"'Surely the bridegroom's attendants cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is still with them? “ Mt9, 14
A true believer, a Christian does not feel sad because even orphaned is not an orphan because even in the knowledge of his/her fallibility still lives in God’s life-giving sanctifying love !! A believer even in the valley of suffering walks hand in hand with his/her betrothed with hopeful joy their life-journey! For the one who lives with Christ even through the darkest , most painful hours, grieving the comforting hope , the certain knowledge will shine through that my Creator, my Redeemer loves me and is great enough to fulfil His promise to take me to the Kingdom of Heaven !!
With the calm, joyful faith of the redeemed people ,

Then John's disciples came to Jesus and said, 'Why is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not?'
Jesus replied, 'Surely the bridegroom's attendants cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is still with them? But the time will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
No one puts a piece of unshrunken cloth onto an old cloak, because the patch pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worse. Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, the wine runs out, and the skins are lost. No; they put new wine in fresh skins and both are preserved.’

On 8 July starting at 11 am in Gyergyóremete on the occasion of festivities in the village I am giving a presentation on my trip to Iraq . I realise many of you are asking why do I attend as a priest on such occasions to give presentations in community arts centres !! My answer is simple : I am following my Master who would like us to go even for one soul to the end of the world if necessary , He would like to invite everyone to His Wedding Feast !!!
I am awaiting my sisters and bothers from Gyergyó with love in Remete,

As Jesus passed by,
he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, "Follow me."
And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners came
and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
"Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
He heard this and said,
"Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

For our Lord Jesus Christ there is no such person who is bad , since we are all the children of the Heavenly Father !! He knows that man is good, whatever evil is within us can be cleansed and then on our faces the beautiful features of our Creator will shine !! Jesus does not judge but frees one up, gives back our dignity as God’s children !! Lets not judge but save our brethren from hatred, lies, laziness , from the thousand sly contagion of sin, so he can also experience the joy to live in harmony and peace !

Jesus Heals Two Men with Demons
28 oAnd when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes,5 two pdemon-possessed6 men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. 29 And behold, they qcried out, “What have you to do with us, rO Son of God? Have you come here to torment us sbefore the time?” 30 Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them. 31 And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.” 32 And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters. 33 The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the tdemon-possessed men. 34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, uthey begged him to leave their region.

Lord I am also of little faith, but I still clench my teeth and start in Your footsteps !! I feel and know that You expect us that we take bigger steps , more courageously to embark on the way of love !! A kind man from Australia bequeathed a larger sum of money for the Foundation and using this money we bought a house right next to our house in Szárhegy ! We bought a nice one- storey building , because on the one hand we outgrew our existing house and on the other hand we would like to develop a few nice rooms , with bathrooms for the volunteers knocking on our doors and our guests !
Our home in Szárhegy back then was named after Kájoni János , the Transylvanian Franciscan poly historian ! He in Your name our Lord , dared to build a monastery , a church ,an organ, printery , publish books! Asking the intercession of our patron saint , Lord we also embarked in Your name , to extend our child protection home , to beautify it carrying on with the work entrusted onto us in the interest of our children !! I ask you lovingly our Lord God for Your blessing on this extension of our home dedicated in honour of Kájoni János, help us that following in the footsteps of our great example lovingly, with goodness we fill with lives, settle in our beautiful homeland !

As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea,
so that the boat was being swamped by waves;
but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying,
"Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
He said to them, "Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?"
Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was great calm.
The men were amazed and said, "What sort of man is this,
whom even the winds and the sea obey?”
